We leave in two days! I guess it is time to pack. We just got back from a great visit with Mom and a couple days in SF. It is cool and nice here in Clovis right now, unseasonably cool, but we are AK bound and need to get things done quickly in the next couple days!

So Ready to Depart!
Today will be 106 and yesterday was 103 in Clovis, CA. When it is in the 90’s after 11pm it is just very hard to take. I was told people get used to this. I have been here since 1979 and I have to say it is NOT getting easier but in fact more difficult to tolerate the heat. John is even starting to complain about it. Alaska is calling to us! It is probably one extreme to another, since it is raining and 52 in Ketchikan but it seems very inviting to us.

Phew…
Okay, the heat has hit the Central Valley. We are now COUNTING the days until departure to Alaska! 16 days, 19 hours,and 45 or so minutes! Ketchikan is 55 degrees, and Clovis is 96 degrees – guess which we prefer???
